Multi-layered Cards ~ Petal Garden DSP

These are the last of the multilayered cards I made last month as thank you cards for my lovely customers – and wouldn’t you know this paper retired just last week! but I want to share them anyway as the technique will work for any of the new DSP packs in the 2018 – 2019 annual catalog.

The design is inspired by an idea from the UK demonstrator Pootles and it appealed to me very much – but instead of cutting up my DSP I used the scraps that were left over from previous projects. As a result I made about 2 dozen cards in total and although they followed the same formula every single one is different.

I set myself a couple of rules, the layering pieces of card must be the same color as the card base and each card needed to have 3 pieces of DSP.

Flirty Flamingo and Beautiful Bouquet

In the next couple of days the 2017 – 2018 catalog will retire and so will some of the products within it.  Flirty Flamingo has been one of the In-colors for the last 2 years and it is due to retire too………….. BUT it is coming back in the new 2018 – 2019 catalog as one of the new core colors…. so Goodbye and Hello Flirty Flamingo!

Multi-layered Cards ~ Naturally Eclectic & Fresh Florals

This is the 3rd set of multi-layered cards I have shared – I just loved doing this technique and as I finished each set I was looking for more scraps of DSP to create more cards.  It is kind of like doing a One Sheet Wonder – but using pieces that were already cut and in my stash.

I was inspired by a  post from Pootles, a UK demonstrator, where she had taken some Designer Series Paper and cut it up to create a number of very pretty layered cards.  Instead of cutting up my DSP I used the scraps that were left over from previous projects. Last week I shared some cards I had made from  scraps of Designer Series Paper, I rarely throw away my off-cuts and after I had seen some cards made by  Pootles, a UK demonstrator, I was so glad I had not.  She had taken some Designer Series Paper and cut it up to create a number of very pretty layered cards.  The idea appealed to me very much – but instead of cutting up my DSP I used the scraps that were left over from previous projects. As a result I made about 2 dozen cards in total and although they followed the same formula every single one is different.

Collar Fold Card – Video Tutorial

I have two cards and one video tutorial to share with you today.  I love this Collar Fold, it gives me a chance to showcase our Designer Series Paper and also to show both sides of the same piece.  Each card using the same fold but in two different colors, both would be perfect for a birthday or thank you card, although my pink version was designed as a Valentine it would make a great anniversary card as well.

I used a number of goodies from the  2018 Occasions Catalog ~  the greetings from the Southern Serenade Stamp Set, Petal Pair Embossing Folders, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and Petal Passions Embellishments. Continue reading →

Painted Harvest – Simple Eclipse Technique

I have shared a number of cards using the very popular Eclipse technique – typically it uses letters but it does take a little time to assemble.  Using a punch  makes  a very quick and simple way to create this lovely 3D effect.

Petal Palette Thank You

Petal Palette – I just love this stamp set – I have shared in the past how much I love flowers and using them in my cards and this one has them + a cute little bird and a boatload of useful greetings.  Today’s card uses a number of products from the Petal Passion Suite in the Occasions Catalog.  This suite features mainly black and white with a little flash of silver – so it will go with just about anything  in Stampin’ UP!’s range of colors, today I chose to go with Calypso Coral. Bubble Over Thank you

Today’s card has lots of lovely bright and happy colors and uses some of the lovely products from the 2017 Occasions catalog.

I chose to use the Bubble Over bundle for this one, the stamp set has a number of sentiments so that you could make this into a birthday card which I think would be perfect for a teenager.  I paired this with Bubble and Fizz Designer Series Paper which is a free Sale-a-bration gift with a $50 product purchase.
