Stamparatus ~ Hinge Stampin’ # 2 – Video Tutorial

This is the 3rd in my series of short and sweet videos showing tips and techniques using the Stamparatus.  It shows another type of hinge stamping using the delightful Touches of Texture Stamp Set, stamping off technique using the Stamparatus and a little watercoloring

The Stamparatus is Stampin’ UP!’s latest tool  and an absolute must have for all stampers.  It helps you perfectly align your stamp images, stamp multiples of the same project quickly and accurately and gets complete ink coverage – ‘cos you can do a ‘do-over’ as my video today will show. Mastering Ribbon # 4 – Faux Knots

Most of my projects seem to include ribbon, I have mentioned before that often times I start with my ribbon drawer for inspiration for my colors and then work from there.  Ribbon is such a versilite embellishment and Stampin’ UP! has over 50 different ribbons and trims to choose from and they all coordinate with the ink and cardstock in the SU color families.

I shall be offering a ribbon share in August……………. so watch this space!

Product Spotlight ~ Stampin’ Trimmer

It is a while since I shared one of Stampin” UP!’s fabulous tools – so today I am showing you the Stampin’ Trimmer.  Now they have been out for a few years now and I use mine all the time.  Some of the cards and 3D items I make and share here use 1/8’s and I know you probably groan to have to cut soooo precisely but with this trimmer it is very easy to do as they are clearly marked.

Happy July 4th………. 650th Blog Post

WOW – 650 blog posts since I first started back in July 2013 – so today is a double celebration!  In the early days my posts were few and far between – often times I could not think of what to share, but these days I try very hard to post every other day as well as share video tutorials thru my You Tube channel.

I appreciate you following me, liking my posts and more importantly making comments – it just lets me know that you are all out there and I am not just talking to myself, so please ‘comment ‘ and ‘ like ‘ away – I truly  appreciate your giving me some of your time!

Now – back to business…………….. I am not a great one for going onto  Pinterest – not that I don’t love the whole concept but I loose track of time and suddenly 2 or 3 hours have passed and I have little to show for it!!  So I ration myself ~ maybe for about 30 mins or so.

Fool’s Gold Technique – Video Tutorial

I have a monthly technique class and am always looking for new ways of using paper, stamps and ink.  The Marbled Background Stamp has been in my stash for a few months and I wanted to use it for ‘something’ but not sure what – so I played for a while starting with stamping Memento Black ink and a quarter sheet of Whisper White card.

It was OK but was not floating my boat so I pulled out the Artisan Textures Stamp Set and randomly stamped over the surface with Versamark and sprinkled with Copper Embossing Powder then setting it with the Heat Gun……………. and there it was …………… a pretty cool effect that I have dubbed ‘Fool’s Gold’ as it reminds me of the rock of the same name – a throwback to my university degree where I majored in the Earth Sciences.

Gift Wrapped Stickynote Page Flags ~ Video

I bet the title of this post threw you  a little, but it was hard to find something that was descriptive!  At the beginning of June I held my launch party for the 2018 – 2019 annual catalog.  I have new product for my dear customers to ooo and aahh over as well as some make and takes but I also like to make a little gift for each as a thank you for coming as well as shopping with me over the year!

This year I found some packets of sticky-note page flags which seemed to me to be absolutely perfect for marking up their new catalog with the goodies that caught their eye!

Sweet and Simple Serene Garden with Spotlight Technique

Earlier this week I had my 2018 – 2019 Annual Catalog launch, each person got their own personal copy of the new catalog, we had a scavenger hunt,  a drool over some of the new products I was able to pre-order, snacks and some ‘make and takes’

One  of the make and takes was this card using a new stamp set, Serene Garden and one of the new card colors, Merry Merlot, plus some Stampin Blends pens – which will be available in the coming weeks.

Mastering Ribbon # 3 ~ Double Bow

Stampin’ UP! has the most amazing selection of ribbons and trims ranging from twine  up to 5/8 inch wide and the selection of textures and colors that coordinate with other products makes it so easy to decorate cards and other paper crafting projects.  I often find myself looking at my ribbons and trims first for inspiration when starting the design on a project.

Today’s video shares my way of tying a double looped bow – by that I mean each bow has 4 loops ~ two on each side, and two tails.  So pretty and luxurious! Continue reading
