Sponging Technique with Tasteful Textures
Today I am late with my post – to be honest I am a couple of days late – but I have a good reason!
On Saturday evening our house was struck by lightening! A big flash, bang and the strong smell of ozone – it fried our cable service (internet, TV), all the switching powers supplies for various electronic devices ( including our phone service!) then a TV and the dishwasher! So we have spent the last couple of days piecing our lives back together – Friday we go shop for a dishwasher! 🙂
I have a video technique to share today which shows a simple but very effective technique – sponging – I use it a lot in my cards and other projects and I think it benefits from revisiting from time-to-time.
June Ink . Stamp . Share Blog Hop ~ 3D
Once again I am thrilled to be taking part in the Ink . Stamp . Share blog hop, we are a group of Stampin’ Up!®️Demonstrators from around the globe here to bring you inspiration through creativity!
You will have either arrived from Anastasia’s post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME . This month’s theme is 3D. ……………. oh and I just love to do 3D projects! So today I have chosen to do a home decor piece using the Magnolia Memory Dies from the new 2019 – 2020 Stampin’ UP! catalog.
Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop ~ Sketch Challenge
Welcome to the Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop, we are group of international Stampin UP! demonstrators sharing our ideas and creativity with you.
You will have either arrived from Lisa’s post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME. This month we have a ‘Sketch Challenge ‘ ~ where we have been given a layout for us to choose colors and a theme.
Once again I have chosen to use a 12 x 12 page – mainly because Stampin’ UP! has 12 x 12 card stock in all its colors which gives me a fantastic choice but also because they have the 12 x 12 Page Protectors and Albums.
Garden Lane DSP Scrap Card
I was tidying my work bench – it happens from time to time, especially if I find myself looking for something that is really right under my nose if I just had not put ‘something else’ on top of it! I have often said that if I had just half of the time back that I spend looking for something that is right in front of me, I would get so much more done in a day……. can anyone else relate?
Anyway – as I say – I was tidying my workbench and found some scraps from the Garden Lane DSP from a project I had finished a couple of days before. I could not bring myself to throw them away, so pulled out some Whisper White Card along with a Garden Green Card base. I did not trim the DSP in any way, they are exactly the size and shape l picked up! 🙂
I shall be introducing my DSP share in the coming weeks – so watch this space!
Garden Lane Decorated Notepads
At the beginning of June I held my Stampin’ UP! 2019 -2020 Catalog launch. Everyone made a couple of make-n-takes, got their copy of the new catalog and a little gift from me to thank them for coming and their on-going support for my card-crafting business.
The gift was a little decorated notepad showcasing the new Garden Lane Designer Series Paper as well as the new Timeless Label Punch. This has to be one of my most favorite papers in the new catalog – I just love all the fresh greens and how they all work so beautifully together…….. and don’t get me started on the Timeless Label Punch – I don’t think it has been out of my hands since the UPS man delivered it!
Cajun Craze Dandelion Wishes – Get Well Card
It is so easy to get carried away with all the new goodies we have to choose from in the new 2019 – 2020 Stampin’ UP! catalog and I have shared some of them over the last couple of weeks.
There are some particular favorite stamp sets that carried over from last year and one of them is Dandelion Wishes. A few months ago I ‘tripped over’ the color combination of Cajun Craze and Petal Pink – it fascinated me then and still does today, so my card features this combination along with another favorite – a simple Z-fold card.
Above the clouds with Seaside Spray!
I have been sharing the new 2019 – 2021 In-colors and now it is the turn of some of the new products. I used the Above the Clouds Stamp Set today, which has the coordinating Hot Air Balloon punch to cut out that cut hot air balloon and its little basket, each of the products are available separately but if you buy the bundle you will save 10% – check out the link below!
I think the greeting on this one would be perfect for a graduation card, I know that most graduations are over for this year in the US but in the UK school is still very much in and not due to finish for the summer holidays until late July – so there is still time to make a card if you are in the UK and looking for some inspiration.
Product Spotlight ~ Take Your Pick
In September of 2018 Stampin’ UP! introduced a new product – the Take Your Pick Tool, a Multipurpose Pickup and Precision Tool that has a neat tacky putty tip that picks up small bits like sequins and tiny beads.
It also has a piecing tool, small and large stylus for scoring paper and a little spatula. When the new 2019 – 2020 Catalog came out a few weeks ago a Die Brush for removing small cut pieces when using dies.
Introducing……….. Seaside Spray and Floral Essence Stamp Set
Seaside Spray is the 5th and final of the 2019 – 2021 In-colors . The Floral Essence stamp Set is featured again – it is such a lovely set and those of you who know me also know that I just love flowers, so this is one that will be used an awful lot in the coming months!
I have also showcased the coordinating ribbon and embellishments for this color, both will be part of my ribbon and embellishment shares in the coming weeks…………. so watch this space!
