Artistically Asian Anniversary

Last week I shared an anniversary card and that I have a number of anniversaries this time of year, brother, niece and long time friend.  The Artistically Asian  stamp set has been in the catalog for a couple of years now but I have not used it as much as it deserves.  I also dipped into the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set for my greeting (if you don’t have this one consider adding it to your next order – it is a great one to have in your stash)

My card colors are Tranquil Tide and Coastal Cabana, I tripped over this combination when designing a card for my June Card Class and have used it again today.

Love What You Do Friend Card

I have used the Love What You Do stamp set and other products from the Share What you Love Suite of products an awful lot – it is just very versatile and has a wide range of colors within the DSP which means I get plenty of choices when designing a card.  ALSO – as a demonstrator I was able to get my hands on this suite way back in April – so it has given me plenty of time to play with it.  (If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator there is a great deal for joining Stampin’ UP! in July ……. click here if you would like to know more)

Pop of Petals – making the stamp set and punch work together video.

Oh………… I have a new color combination that I have fallen in love with………….  Soft Sea Foam and Gray Granite, both are new members of the SU color family and they go together so very well.

I have a number of wedding anniversaries on the horizon and wanted to make some cards ready to send,  I also wanted to use one of the new bundles that was on the first order I placed after the new catalog went live on June 1st – Pop of Petals – a stamp set of the same name and the Four Petal Flower Punch.

Product Spotlight ~ Stampin’ Trimmer

It is a while since I shared one of Stampin” UP!’s fabulous tools – so today I am showing you the Stampin’ Trimmer.  Now they have been out for a few years now and I use mine all the time.  Some of the cards and 3D items I make and share here use 1/8’s and I know you probably groan to have to cut soooo precisely but with this trimmer it is very easy to do as they are clearly marked.

Happy July 4th………. 650th Blog Post

WOW – 650 blog posts since I first started back in July 2013 – so today is a double celebration!  In the early days my posts were few and far between – often times I could not think of what to share, but these days I try very hard to post every other day as well as share video tutorials thru my You Tube channel.

I appreciate you following me, liking my posts and more importantly making comments – it just lets me know that you are all out there and I am not just talking to myself, so please ‘comment ‘ and ‘ like ‘ away – I truly  appreciate your giving me some of your time!

Now – back to business…………….. I am not a great one for going onto  Pinterest – not that I don’t love the whole concept but I loose track of time and suddenly 2 or 3 hours have passed and I have little to show for it!!  So I ration myself ~ maybe for about 30 mins or so.

Flourishing Phrases with Tufted Embossing Folder

We have a new embossing folder in the 2018 -2019 Annual Stampin’ UP! catalog, simply called ‘ Tufted‘ I wanted to use it so much but for it not to get lost in too much other detail.

Once again a gentle stroll thru my stamp sets and  dies I spied the Flourishing Phases stamp set and the coordinating Flourishing Thinlits Dies – neither of which had been used for a while.

Beautiful Bouquet – Welcome to the Neighborhood

We had a new family move in a couple of houses along from us – now I am not a great one for cooking a dish or baking a cake as a welcome gift but I am a card maker and so I went with what I am best at and made them a card!

I left it on their doorstep early one morning when walking the dogs, then last Sunday there was a knock on our front door and there was the new family of 4 with a Triple Chocolate cake as a thank you for the welcome.  Daisy Mae and CiCi (our yorkies) gave their usual greeting then got lots of hugs from the children – so their morning turned out perfectly as well.

Fool’s Gold Technique – Video Tutorial

I have a monthly technique class and am always looking for new ways of using paper, stamps and ink.  The Marbled Background Stamp has been in my stash for a few months and I wanted to use it for ‘something’ but not sure what – so I played for a while starting with stamping Memento Black ink and a quarter sheet of Whisper White card.

It was OK but was not floating my boat so I pulled out the Artisan Textures Stamp Set and randomly stamped over the surface with Versamark and sprinkled with Copper Embossing Powder then setting it with the Heat Gun……………. and there it was …………… a pretty cool effect that I have dubbed ‘Fool’s Gold’ as it reminds me of the rock of the same name – a throwback to my university degree where I majored in the Earth Sciences.

Adirondack Beach Memories ~Ink and Share Blog Hop

Today I am thrilled to be taking part  in the Ink & Share blog hop again.  You will have arrived from Rebecca-Jo Unwin’s post.   This month’s theme is  Summer ~ I really thought about this  and recall family holiday’s when we were children in North Devon in the UK, there was a particular beach, Putsborough Sands, that had wonderful sand and you could walk into the sea for ages before it got too deep.

It bought back such happy memories that I decided that my summer card would feature a beach with a comfy chair where you can take time to just watch the world go by.
