Summer is well and truly with us here in North Texas – we are forecast for 100F+ for the next 10 days. My garden is looking a little parched despite the fact I am out watering at 7am every day!
One thing that will not fade away in the heat is the lovely flowers that are part of the Accented Blooms Stamp Set. I have used So Saffron, Pool Party, Powder Pink and Pear Pizzazz to watercolor my flowers and they are still as vibrant as the day I painted them.
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Pear Pizzazz Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White Card ~ run thru the Big Shot with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder
Layer 2: 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Powder Pink Card
Layer 3: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Water Color Paper
Ink Colors: Stazon Black, So Saffron, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and Powder Pink
I used my Aqua Painter to color the flowers and leaves, starting with quite a pale wash in each color then allowing it to dry before adding a little more depth of color for the centers of each one. I used a paper plate and put a little drop of ink from the ink refills then watered down my colors before applying them to the card. I did get a little over-enthusiastic with the So Saffron and it bled a little, but since this is water coloring I don’t think it matters too much.
I chose the 3/8 Pool Party Shimmery Ribbon and the coordinating Tailored Tag Punch to add my greeting. Hello is such a bright and cheery word, I think this greeting would work for almost any occasion, birthday, thank you, thinking of you…………
