Free as a Bird, Blender Pens and Monster Bash DSP.

welcome back to my corner of the world.

Today’s card comes with a video sharing a technique using Blender Pens and Watercolor Pencils.  I made the card for a friend of mine who celebrated a birthday in August.

A perk of being a demonstrator is being about to get my hands on goodies about a month before the 2019 Holiday Catalog goes live and I had just received a delivery from Stampin’ UP! with my pre-order .  One of the new Halloween Designer Series Papers – Monster Bash –  has a strong Halloween theme BUT if you flip the paper over it has more general theme – perfect for a bunch of other occasions – so that was the starting point for this card, which you might not have thought would have gone with the Free as a Bird Stamp Set.

Happy Birthday with a Cross Stitch Bear

welcome back to my corner of the world.

Most crafters do  more than one craft, papercrafting is my first love closely followed by embroidery – mainly counted cross-stitch these days although I used to do a lot of free-form embroidery back in the day!

My great-niece turned 6 at the beginning of this month so I decided to  marry my two favorite crafts together by stitching a small piece then building a card base to fit it in – it was a lot of fun I might try it again sometime!

Tuscan Vineyard with Crumb Cake and Blackberry Bliss

So …….. time got away from me in the last few days and I missed out on a couple of posts.  I like to write them ‘live’ rather than in advance so during the last few days of the US tax season my long tax preparation days got in the way.

Today is the last day I shall be preparing taxes until next year and I have taken a little ‘timeout’ to share a celebration drink with you using one of my present favorite stamp sets – Tuscan Vineyard.

Artistically Asian Anniversary

Last week I shared an anniversary card and that I have a number of anniversaries this time of year, brother, niece and long time friend.  The Artistically Asian  stamp set has been in the catalog for a couple of years now but I have not used it as much as it deserves.  I also dipped into the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set for my greeting (if you don’t have this one consider adding it to your next order – it is a great one to have in your stash)

My card colors are Tranquil Tide and Coastal Cabana, I tripped over this combination when designing a card for my June Card Class and have used it again today.

Southern Serenade Birthday

This is one of those special birthday cards – made for a friend who was celebrating a milestone birthday – I did not add an age – everyone deserves a little consideration when it comes to that!  My stamp set is Southern Serenade with the Layering Oval Dies making the focal point and Eclectic Layers thinlits dies giving some background dimension. Mystery Stamping with Lovely Friends

Last Sunday evening my Stampin’ UP! grandma organised another mystery stamping event on our teams Facebook page.  It is the latest in a series she had done over the last few years and they are a lot of fun.

She starts by giving us a list of supplies, this time it was a card base plus a layer, a Whisper White oval, some ribbon and linen thread, then to choose a stamp set with flowers and greetings and two ink pads. Continue reading

Thoughts and Prayers ~ Stampin’ UP!

Sympathy cards are the one type of card that we would really not have to make but they are probably the ones that bring the most comfort to the recipient ~ they know someone is thinking of them at a difficult time in their life.

The Thoughts and Prayers stamp set is a one  to have in your stash, not only is it suitable for bereavement it also has some lovely sentiments for get well and thinking of you…. and what can I say about the two images – one the most elegant tree and the other a lovely ‘swooshy’ flowery branch – which I have used on an anniversary card before.
