By The Bay ~ Twisted Ribbon Technique Video Tutorial

Welcome to my Corner of the World

It is amazing what you can get paper to do! My card today has taken some double sided decorative paper and created a twisted ribbon effect, it was a lot of fun to do and remarkably easy – things usually are when you know to do them. So in today’s card and video I share how I do this technique, showcasing one of the new decorative papers that will be available on January 5th when the new 2023 Jan – May mini catalog goes LIVE! 🙂

Embossed Pearlescent Wedding Card Idea

Welcome to my Corner of the World

We are on the verge of wedding season and I have several folks who are planning their ‘I do’ day over the coming months. Wherever possible I like to try to pick up on the wedding colors for the cards I make and send, however some weddings choose the neutral white or ivory. Today’s card is one that would work for any wedding theme as it is ivory with a little touch of gold.

Unusual Daffodils ~ Thank you card idea

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Last week I shared my technique for creating daffodils with the Daffodil Dies. As I explained in my video at the time I chose to use some ‘off the wall’ colors for my demo so that it would be easier for you to see how the different pieces went together.

As you know – I hate waste – and seeing those two ‘wild’ looking daffodils sitting on my work bench troubled me! so I pulled out some Basic Black card, did a touch of heat embossing and attached them to create this thank you card.

Welcome to my Corner of the World

I spend a lot of time looking thru the Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog, and I look – I really do look and then suddenly something catches my eye I had not seen before……. ????? One of those ‘somethings’ is the Picture This Dies, tucked away on page 164 – thee are two dies in the set, one will cut circles and another that cuts rectangles to create interesting effects for your cards. Once the circles are cut it is really easy to attach a piece of decorative paper to the back and here is the result………….

Introducing Stampin’ Blends ~ Easy Techniques # 2

Welcome to my Corner of the World

A couple of weeks ago I posted my first video introducing Stampin’ Blends, as I explained at that time, Stampin Blends are alcohol markers and have been available for a few years now. Although I have some of them I have not really explored them very much. When one of my lovely customers asked me a question on them I was unable to give her a good answer and made the decision I was going to teach myself how to use them!

Rather than practice in private – I decided I was going to practice on video, starting with the basics and developing my skills in front of you, my wonderful readers! So this is the second is a series I am planning over the coming weeks – enjoy!
