Today’s card was the result of a color challenge, Early Expresso, Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green! I had no problem with combining the first two colors but I have to admit that Garden Green is not my favorite green in the Stampin’ UP! family, so that was the challenge for me, I chose to make it my ‘minor’ color.
- Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Early Expresso Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
- Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Flirty Flamingo Card ~ run thru the Cut and Emboss Machine with Hammered Metal Embossing Folder
- Layer 2: 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 Garden Green Card
- Layer 3: 4 x 2 1/2 Very Vanilla Card
- Banner : 4 x 5/8 Garden Green Card
- Ink Color: Early Expresso and Garden Green
The Shaded Summer Stamp Set has some pretty floral images as well as a great selection of greetings (my favorite kind of stamp set) While I have chosen the Happy Birthday greeting, there are several others to choose from so you could use this card idea and make it into a Thank You card, Friendship card, Hello card ~ lots of choices.
I usually use the Hammered Metal embossing folder on guy cards as it seems kinda masculine, but I think it works really will on this color. I wound a length of the gold Simply Elegant Trim around the banner piece to give it a bit of bling and finished off with a bow. I think I hit the challenge – what do you think?
