Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack is my particular favorite at the moment. It has colors mixed together, that on the face of it, you would not normally put together ~ Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party and Old Olive – all of them beautiful colors on their own but when combined in this paper, it is just stunning.
I am currently hosting a DSP share and one of my ladies looked at the papers in this stack and asked what she could do with the ones that just had pattern in the corner, so I did a little research and came up with an idea for her.
This is one of the sheets in the pack – that beautiful rose backed with Pool Party.
By trimming the paper down I was able to use the flower as a focal feature and have room to stamp a greeting without it looking overcrowded. I did not trim anything from the left hand side, took about 1/2″ from the top, then measured 5″ across the flower then finally trimmed the bottom away, sadly it cut the bud off but I will use it on another project, I’m sure.
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Rich Razzleberry Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White Card
Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Petal Garden DSP stack
Ink Color: Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive
The ribbon is the new 1/8 sheer in Fresh Fig – it blends in wonderfully with the Rich Razzleberry. Those of my customers who joined in my DSP and ribbon shares have exactly what they need to start this card.
I did use one of the trimmed pieces inside the card, it measures 5 1/4 x 1″. The greeting on the front of the card and inside as well as the flower comes from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp set, it has 37 different stamps ~ some of which are a lovely selection of greetings in a pretty cursive font, as well as stems, leaves and flowers to build up a beautiful bouquet.
So now you know what to do with one of those 6 x 6 sheets 🙂
