A Touch of Vintage ~ Graceful Garden

In 2006 our Best Man got married himself.  The wedding was held in a Scottish Castle which had its own private chapel where the service was held.  All the guests and the Groom gathered in the gardens and we were led to the chapel by a piper in full Scottish dress.  The bride arrived with her own piper a few  moments later.   I just love the bagpipes (not to everyones’ taste I know) but  Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and I do!

It was a memorable day and each year I send them a card to commemorate their lovely day, this year I chose a rose from the Graceful Garden Stamp Set and the greeting is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set.

Card base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Crumb Cake Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Crumb Cake Card ~ run thru the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder

Layer 2: 4 1/4 x 3 1/8 Old Olive Card

Layer 3: 4 1/8 x 3 Very Vanilla Card

Ink Color: Crumb Cake

The flower was stamped in Crumb Cake then immediately sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and setting with a Heat Gun.  This gave me a slightly raised outline and sealed the ink so I could use my Watercolor Pencils to color the flower and leaves.

I distressed all the card edges with a paper of paper snips before sponging the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  Very Vanilla Lace Trim and a few Pearls completed the vintage feel.
