Welcome back to my corner of the world
The weather here in North Texas can swing from warm to chilly cold at this time of year. The last couple of days have been chilly cold and remind me very much of the weather in the UK where I was born. To be honest it is not as cold as it would be this time of year in the UK but after 18 years living in this part of the world I think my blood has thinned down and I feel the cold far more keenly!
So today’s card reminds me a little of the winters back ‘home’ but at the same time it is a very peaceful and restful card using the Winter Woods Stamp Set and a masking/sponging technique.
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Seaside Spray Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Basic Black Card
Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Whisper White Card
Ink Colors: Seaside Spray and and Memento Tuxedo Black
To create my mask I took a piece of scrap card the same size as Layer 2, then ran it thru my big shot with the largest of the Stitched Nested Labels dies. Then I laid this over my Whisper White layer and added my ink with a Stampin’ Sponge, using a circular motion. Once this was done I stamped the trees and the greeting which is from the Kindness and Compassion Stamp Set.
I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter so it looks like the trees are scattered with a little frost.
