Welcome to my Corner of the World
I have been having a bit of a love affair with vintage style projects over the last 6 months or so and I have shared a few. I think what I like most about this style is that I can use such a lot of easy techniques to achieve the effect I am looking for – and if I get some ink in the wrong place….. it doesn’t matter 🙂
- Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Wild Wheat Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
- Layer 1: 5 x 3 3/4 Pecan Pie Card ~ run thru the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder
- Tag Layer: 4 1/2 x 2 Very Vanilla Card
- Inside Layer: 5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Card
- Ink Color: Pecan Pie and Wild Wheat
I chose to use the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set for my greetings and images, it has been in the catalog a while but it is new to me and just perfect for shabby chic style projects! The stamp set has a lovely ‘dotty’ stamp I was able to use for ‘tone-on-tone’ on the card base and a ‘stamping off’ technique on the stamped images to get different strengths of ink.
I also used the new Exposed Brick Embossing folder and the new Elegant Edge Tag Topper Punch as its pretty eyelets certainly add to the overall effect, getting to work with my Blending Brushes to Linen Thread and Brushed Metallic Dots just finish everything off for me.
