Mini Hybrid Journal ~ Step 8 Shaker Front Cover and Elegant Closure

Welcome to my Corner of the World

I thought long and hard about how I wanted the cover of this journal to look, as it is quite small I thought too much of the cover would be a little overwhelming so chose to go with a shaker card for the wow factor and a simple elegant closure, both of which I share in today’s video. If you are not into journal making you could still use this technique to create a greeting card with a shaker front.

  • Front Cover: 6 1/8 x 4 1/4 with all the papers and layers etc
  • Picture: 4 15/16 x 3 3/8
  • Frame: 2 pieces 5 1/4 x 3 1/2 Card ~ then cut the frame 1/2 on all sides on one piece
  • Window Sheet/Acetate : 5 1/8 x 3 3/8

Check out the video to see how everything goes together:

I hope you enjoyed seeing this stage of the journal and video I shared with you today, (much of which is inspired by @scrimpingmommy) I love what I do and spend many hours working on designs, new projects, new ideas and much more. Don’t forget to be a subscriber on the blog by clicking the blue follow button on the top right and my You Tube Channel so that you get all the projects.

Supplies:

  • Card, Window Sheet and Shaker Embellishments ~ Stampin UP!
  • Decorative Paper ~ Scrimping Mommy
  • 1″ Vanilla Satin Ribbon ~ from my stash

Please note that I am not endorsing any particular products nor am I being compensated for using them. I am sharing an idea and hope that you will be able to use products from your own stash to create a similar card 🙂

I love to make use of all the supplies I’ve collected, regardless of age! I apologize if it gets frustrating when some are retired, but I have found that many of these, or very similiar items, can be acquired on the used market. I’ve tried to give the info I have on each product so you can go looking if you like…happy hunting!
