2020 Mini Catalog & Sale-a-bration has Started!!

The 2020 Mini Catalog went live on January 4th as well as Sale-a-bration.

So what is Sale-a-bration??    It is a great way to get FREE stuff ~ for every $50 you spend on Stampin’ UP! goodies (exc shipping and tax)  – either from the Annual Catalog or the 2020 Mini  Catalog or even the Clearance Rack; you can choose a  Sale-a-bration catalog item and there are 12 different items to choose from ~ you can collect as many in one order as you want.

As a demonstrator I was able to place my order in December so I was able to get my hands on some of the free products ahead of time.  There are a couple of links to the right to get to both the new catalogs, if would like your own copies, click here  and I will send you them for FREE!

Botanical Bliss Birthday

Welcome back to my corner of the world

Today’s card showcases all three of the purples in the Stampin’ UP! family of colors, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Purple Posy – it also gave me the chance to show off the 3/8 Tricolor Ribbon which also has the same three colors.

I chose to use a simple Z fold for my base and the Highland Heather ink for all my stamping which was done with the Botanical Bliss Stamp set.

In among all the holiday celebrations there are birthdays – tomorrow would have been my dear Pop’s 90th – so I am commemorating with a card for the fellas today.

The Rooted in Nature stamp set paired with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder is a perfect combination ~ add some Early Expresso and throw in a little Pumpkin Pie….. and I think it really works for the guys!

To Every Season ~ Thanksgiving Card

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving here  in the US in the coming days, as an ex-pat Brit – it is not a holiday that we were familiar with when we came to the US in 2001.  Since that time we have celebrated the holiday with our friends here and certainly enjoy the traditions and food linked to the holiday.

Wonderfully Wicked ~ Storybook Fancy Fold

Happy Halloween!  hard to believe we are at that time of year again – later today we will have the ‘littlies’ come knocking at the door to collect their candy (sweeties)  We just love to see them in their costumes.  It is due to be a cold evening so we shall be wrapped up ourselves waiting for them to come by.

Harvest Hello – Autumn Card

welcome back to my corner of the world.

I think it is safe to say that autumn has finally arrived in North Texas, we had a cold front come thru late last Tuesday which plummeted our daytime temp from mid 90’s down to the mid 40’s! and we had 1/2 of rain!

Today’s card features  a quintessential symbol of autumn – the pumpkin, the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set has a coordinating Apple Builder Punch which is just perfect for creating pumpkins.  I chose to use the ‘Hey There Pumpkin’ greeting  – there are several in the set to choose from although I feel ‘Hey there…’  would be great for a birthday card, maybe a ‘just because’ card.

Magnolia Blooms 4 Panel Card ~ Video Tutorial

I wanted to try a fancy fold called the 4 panel card – I checked out ideas on the internet and came across some lovely samples but they were all started with a 12 x 12 piece of card.  I have some colors in this size card stock but I have a much better choice of colors in the regular letter size of 11 x 8 1/2.  So I had a footle around with some copy paper and came up with a design using this size card.

I chose to use a couple of stamp sets on this card – Magnolia Blooms and Artisan Textures.  As you will see in the video I also a took some ‘greeting’ stamps the Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp Set.

Free as a Bird, Blender Pens and Monster Bash DSP.

Today’s card comes with a video sharing a technique using Blender Pens and Watercolor Pencils.  I made the card for a friend of mine who celebrated a birthday in August.

A perk of being a demonstrator is being about to get my hands on goodies about a month before the 2019 Holiday Catalog goes live and I had just received a delivery from Stampin’ UP! with my pre-order .  One of the new Halloween Designer Series Papers – Monster Bash –  has a strong Halloween theme BUT if you flip the paper over it has more general theme – perfect for a bunch of other occasions – so that was the starting point for this card, which you might not have thought would have gone with the Free as a Bird Stamp Set.

Happy Birthday with a Cross Stitch Bear

welcome back to my corner of the world.

Most crafters do  more than one craft, papercrafting is my first love closely followed by embroidery – mainly counted cross-stitch these days although I used to do a lot of free-form embroidery back in the day!

My great-niece turned 6 at the beginning of this month so I decided to  marry my two favorite crafts together by stitching a small piece then building a card base to fit it in – it was a lot of fun I might try it again sometime!
