Today I am sharing a card inspired by the Creating Pretty Cards sketch from Craft Project Central.  I am always looking for ideas for my card projects and have found Craft Project Central to be a very good source of inspiration.

So the story behind today’s card is very simple – I needed a birthday card for a dear friend and a thank you card for another.  One friend just loves black and white, so there was a good starting point, I had also just received the new leaf punch from Stampin’ UP!’s Holiday Catalog and was looking for ANY excuse to use it ! Mystery Stamping with Lovely Friends

Last Sunday evening my Stampin’ UP! grandma organised another mystery stamping event on our teams Facebook page.  It is the latest in a series she had done over the last few years and they are a lot of fun.

She starts by giving us a list of supplies, this time it was a card base plus a layer, a Whisper White oval, some ribbon and linen thread, then to choose a stamp set with flowers and greetings and two ink pads. Continue reading →

Birthday cards are probably the most type of card we make and send, yes well Thank You cards are right up there as well – I do send a lot of those!  ………..

………Back to birthday cards……  I like to make a batch of about half a dozen so that I have a few in my stash in case I need one in a hurry.  In the 2017 – 2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog there is a single die, tucked away on page 213 (and pictures on page 76) which makes a lovely center piece for my card.  I used it as a single layer – which was fine, but felt it needed a little something more so I doubled it up to form a ‘shadow’ effect, and here I have a video to share the technique with you 🙂 Continue reading →

Earlier in the week I shared a couple of cards featuring the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set.  Those cards showed the balloons, today I am sharing cards using the flower stamps, perfect for birthdays or maybe ‘just because’

I do love flowers – I grow them in my garden, in the past I have made them out of flowerpaste (gumpaste) and made them from paper.

I have to be very cautious about choosing stamp sets out of the catalog ~ my eyes are always drawn to the flower sets to the exclusion of others, great for me but not everyone has the same passion as me!  The other day I found out just how cautious I had been, when I wanted to create a card with some flowers on it – I could not find a stamp set on my shelf with a flower in it!!! Paper Pumpkin – Stampin’ Up!

I have subscribed to Paper Pumpkin since it first started just over 3 years ago.  It is a monthly subscription and the whole point of it is that each month we get a SURPRISE!  We don’t know ahead of time what will be in the box, we have had cards, calendars, banners, frame art, treat holders – practically anything you can do with paper and ink has been made into a kit.  Yep – a kit, everything you need is contained within that orange box that lands in my mailbox around the 18th or 19th of each month.   Continue reading →
