Happy Birthday Eclipse Card

Christmas is behind us for another year 😦 but I hope everyone had a good day!

There are folks who have birthday’s around the weeks before and after Christmas, my maternal Grandmother’s birthday was actually born on Christmas Day ~ she would have celebrated her 109th birthday this year. and it was her wedding anniversary as well, I think they married in 1929!   I often think that they get a little short-changed, so I made a very special card for those ‘Christmas/New Year Babies’ Continue reading

Embossing Paste Technique # 1 ~ Glitter video tutorial

When the 2017 – 2018 Annual Catalog was launched in June there was a new product tucked away on Page 201 ~ Embossing Paste!  It was on my first order and I was so excited when it arrived, however I was also excited about the other goodies that arrived in the same box!  I set aside the pot of paste and to be honest it went from my mind – especially as Christmas themes started.

I was tidying my workbench (it happens….. rarely but it does happen!) and there was the pot of Embossing Paste waiting patiently for my attention.  What fun I have had with this product, as I explored what could be done with it I thought a few video’s would be fun to share.

Today’s technique includes lashings of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter!

Fairy Celebration Watercoloring

We have had some Christmas and Autumn themed projects recently so time for a little change, I trawled along my stamp shelf and picked out the Fairy Celebration Stamp set, which I have not used nearly enough.

The set has some lovely images just perfect for coloring so I broke out my Watercolor Pencils  to make a birthday card for Grand-daughter #3; as her birthday is the day before mine it is an easy one to remember! Continue reading

Lovely Friends from Stampin’ UP!

Good Friends are hard to find………….  a perfect sentiment for those times when you want a special card for a special friend.

The Lovely Friends stamp set has 2 large sentiments then about 8 or 9 smaller ones – all in a graceful cursive script.  The other stamps allow you to build up the beautiful flowers, using a two-step stamping technique. Continue reading

Stylized Happy Birthday

I had to take a step back from my blog over the few weeks, partly due to the preparations for my Stampin’ Getaway and also for a number of craft fairs I signed up to do.   I know my readers have still been visiting me here and I thank you for your patience!

One person who shows enormous patience and support is my dear husband, he has been coming home to boxes stacked up, paper cutter taking up the dining room table, taking photos of everything for me, bits of paper and card on every surface in the house  (amongst other things) and has never said a negative word.  So it is right and proper that my first post is the card I made for his birthday earlier this month – yep I defiantly made time for that! Autumn Polished Stone

We are in the last few days of summer – autumn starts on Friday.  Living in North Texas I think that autumn is my favorite season of the year, when I lived in the UK I used to hate the autumn, the days were getting shorter, some days were warm but more often were damp and overcast needing a coat each time you stepped out of the door.

Here in N. Texas it starts to get a cooler but we still get lovely sunny days that don’t require you to bundle up to go outside, working in the garden without getting overheated and sticky after about 5 mins is another pleasure.

In celebration of autumn I have a card in lovely autumnal colors and beautiful leaves. Continue reading

Petal Garden Pretties and Beautiful Bouquet

I have been digging into the Petal Garden DSP Stack a lot recently – I just love all the different patterns and the beautiful combination of Pool Party and Calypso Coral – who would have thought these would go so well together.

The Beautiful Bouquet Stamp set is also another favorite – it has 37 pieces which includes the pieces to build a beautiful Bouquet or a single flower and 15 of the pieces are sentiments ranging from Happy Birthday , Congratulations, Happy Wedding Day ~ all in a lovely cursive script.

I could not decide which card to choose so here are two showcasing the DSP, stamp set and 1/8 sheer ribbon.
