Stampin’ UP! has the most amazing selection of ribbons and trims ranging from twine up to 1/2 inch wide and the selection of textures and colors that coordinate with other products makes it so easy to decorate cards and other paper crafting projects.

We have a brand new Occasions catalog but we can still get the Painted Harvest Stamp Set and that really cute Cat Punch, both of which I used to create this card. I used the one of the greetings from the stamp set but it would make a perfect birthday card for a child I think. This card also uses a couple of products from my stash that get overlooked, the Starburst Punch and the Wood Texture DSP Stack.

Today is the first day of my dear sweet husbands’ retirement. He started work at 16 years of age, put himself thru college and has provided for his family ever since, often working long hours and travelling a lot of miles.
We plan to spend the coming years travelling a lot of miles together and seeing something of this country we now call home. Continue reading
Back in the late summer, early autumn I was looking for a technique for my monthly class and came across using fresh leaves – which is kind of a modern take on the old dried pressed leaves and flowers. Christmas is behind us for another year 😦 but I hope everyone had a good day!
There are folks who have birthday’s around the weeks before and after Christmas, my maternal Grandmother’s birthday was actually born on Christmas Day ~ she would have celebrated her 109th birthday this year. and it was her wedding anniversary as well, I think they married in 1929! At the beginning of December I shared the PEACE Pennants project I designed for Craft Project Central, I really enjoyed creating this 3D piece of home decor and decided to create a slightly more specific one for Christmas.
MERRY means ‘Cheerful and Lively’ and perfect for the 5 wood blocks I had and for my Christmas Day post.

I have one more Christmas themed treat box to share before the BIG Day. As many of you may know I am an ex-pat Brit living in North Texas for a little over 16 years.
One of the Christmas traditions in the UK is to have Christmas Crackers on the table. In our family we used to pull them after we had eaten the main course and before we tucked into the dessert of Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies with either brandy butter or whipped cream.
Today I am sharing another project from Craft Project Central a set of the most beautiful gift box and matching card ( it would make the most perfect gift set for Valentine’s Day!)
