Today I am sharing a card inspired by the Creating Pretty Cards sketch from Craft Project Central. I am always looking for ideas for my card projects and have found Craft Project Central to be a very good source of inspiration.
So the story behind today’s card is very simple – I needed a birthday card for a dear friend and a thank you card for another. One friend just loves black and white, so there was a good starting point, I had also just received the new leaf punch from Stampin’ UP!’s Holiday Catalog and was looking for ANY excuse to use it !
This is the card sketch designed by Christy Faulk
….. here is the Thank You card version:
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Basic Black Card
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White run the the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis Embossing folder.
Ink Color: Versamark and Calypso Coral
I cut 3 lengths of the Calypso Coral ombre ribbon, each piece was about 3″, folded them in half and attached them to the back of a tiny scrap of white card with mini glue dots, then attached the leaves cut with the new punch then onto a small silver metallic doily.
The greeting was embossed in silver and the banner flag trimmed with a pair of paper snips.
Here is the ‘Happy Birthday’ version:
