Fond Farewell ~ Dear Doily

We are in the last 7 days  for the Stampin UP! 2018 – 2019  annual catalog which means that stamp sets and other products will be retiring and there are some of my favorites among them.  So I am going to use my blog posts to share some of the things that are retiring – along with links so that you can put in your order so you don’t miss out.

Today’s I am offering another in my Sweet and Simple series ~ where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal!  I think it meets my aim of using one stamp set, and a couple of ink pads.

Card base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 So Saffron Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1:  5 1/4 x 4 Early Expresso Card

Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Very Vanilla Card

Ink Colors: So Saffron & Early Expresso

I chose the Dear Doily Stamp Set because I really love those doilies – but the ‘Words can’t Express’ Is such a useful phrase especially as the set has 3 additional ones for putting inside the card which covers ‘sorry for your loss, how much your  kindness touches my life and just how much you mean to me!  – so flexible!

Such a quick and simple card which I started by stamping the doilies randomly over the card, then added the greeting and the silhouetted flower stem.  The Early Expresso and Very Vanilla layers are adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive this is then attached to the base card with 4 – 5 Stampin’ Dimensionals ~ and that was it …..done! See what I mean about #simplestamping ?

So you can see this stamp set has a whole lot going for it, so don’t miss out – add it to your order today!
