I am not terribly good at doing ‘cute’ but with the Adorable Owl Stamp Set – it is impossible not to make a cute card!
Card Base: 7 1/4 x 4 1/4 Basic White Thick Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 3 3/4 x 2 Dandy Designs Decorative Paper, layered onto 4 x 2 1/4 Fresh Freesia Card
Layer 2: 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 Dandy Designs Paper, layered onto 4 x 3 Basic White Card, layered onto 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 Fresh Freesia Card
Ink Color : Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
I have used an easy fun fold card, by simply cutting the last 3″ off the front of the card, then turning it around and attaching it to a couple of other layers then onto the front of the card with some Stampin Dimensionals.
I broke out my Stampin’ Blends to color my owls – I know I don’t use them often enough ! Crumb Cake for the bodies, Night of Navy for the bow tie, Pumpkin Pie for the beak and feet, Fresh Freesia for the front of the ‘lady owl’ and Pool Party for their eyes. Once colored I used the Label Me Lovely Punch to cut the owls and attached them with some more Stampin Dimensionals.
I also covered the flap of my envelope – I have never done that before ~ as I had a scrap that fitted I used a little Liquid Adhesive to attach it then trimmed off the extra bit.
The more I looked at my card the more I thought it looked a bit like a valentine or maybe an anniversary card, so added a few Heart Pearls colored with the Fresh Freesia Blend Pen.
