Today I have gone right back to basics with some Card, Ink and Stamps………….. and a little bling, of course!!! Sometimes I can get so wrapped up in fancy colds or techniques that I can forget the pleasure of just simply using color to create texture, so I cracked out my Blending Brushes, the Layering Leaves Stamps set and a couple of ink pads!
Continue readingYou all know that I love the decorative paper packs, I find them inspirational especially when it comes to color combinations. Last November I was able to go to an all day Stampin’ UP! event in Arlington TX, there I was gifted an pack of Like an Animal decorative paper – which has all animal prints. To be honest it is not something I would choose to have but I put on my thinking cap and came up with a simple design featuring the paper with some lovely Polished Pink card and ribbon (soon to retire)

Continue readingA couple of weeks ago we had an ice storm come thru North Texas that lasted about 4 days. While I was warm and snug indoors it did look a bit bleak outside and I needed to think about something a sunny and bright – so today’s card uses the Tropical Hideaway Stamp with some bright and happy gold heat embossing.
Continue readingHere is a great way to use up your decorative paper, simply cut a 2″ circle and attach it to your card front! I simply chose some of the colors out of the paper, in this case Just Jade and Basic Black and used the card and ink colors to build up the design.
Now I have to admit this card was at the bottom of the pile of designs I had for my blog and I am a little late in posting it as Just Jade has recently retired however you could swap out for Old Olive and still create this style of card.

I have used the Biggest Wish Stamp Set on several occasions, it very cleverly has 5 words each produced in block capital letters and in a pretty script, this way you can build up a greeting that suits your needs.
Continue readingI am really taken with the Biggest Wish Stamp Set ~ I love that I can create nice, big greetings for my cards, this is especially true for today’s card as I made it for my nephew so that is not ‘over the top’ as he is not into fancy!
I chose to use some decorative paper with checks and pull the checks thru the card by using one of the new embossing folders. This is a very quick and simple card to make you could use the same sketch, changing out the decorative paper and card colors to create a card for any occasion.
Continue readingI have shared the Pansy Petals Suite before, I love it with all the beautiful pansies. The Designer Series Paper is really spectacular and to ensure its beauty I made it the main part of my card.
I paired the paper with the coordinating Pansy Patch Stamp Set along with the greeting from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set. Each month I send a thank you card to everyone who shops with me for the Stampin’ UP! goodies, and this is the one I made for my June customers.
