Truly Tailored – Birthday or Father’s Day Card

Today it’s time for another ‘Guy’ card – I think I have shared on a number of occasions how difficult I find it to make for the fella’s in my life but the Truly Tailored Stamp set makes it a lot easier – along with the Tailored Tag Punch.  ~ available as a bundle until May 31st 2018 which would give you a 10% discount.

I think this card would be perfect for a birthday or indeed Father’s Day on June 17th, 2018.

Sweet and Simple ~ Truly Tailored

Today’s card is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal!

Well today’s specatular card also bids a fond farewell to Emerald Envy – about to retire at the end of May.

I chose the Truly Tailored Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog – perfect for guy type cards, birthday as well as for Father’s Day coming in June. Continue reading

Sweet Soiree Embellishments # 3

Just cannot keep my hands of this beautiful embellishment kit from the 2018 Occasions Catalog!  This time I made a very pretty, gentle card using the vellum, laser-cut pieces along with the Washi Tape from the Embellishment Kit.

This card also serves as a fond farewell to the ‘soon-to-be-retiring Marina Mist ink and paper  as well as the 1/8 silver ribbon.

I can see this as an anniversary , graduation as well as a birthday card.

Once again, I have also used the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set and the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. Continue reading

Sweet Soiree Embellishments # 2

A week or so ago I shared a card made with the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit which is tucked away on page 13 of the 2018 Occasions catalog.  It  is a packet of the cutest little embellishments ~ just perfect for quick and very pretty decorating of cards and other paper crafting items and  includes ribbon, tassels, mini clothes pins, washi tape, die-cuts on card and vellum, which include cakes, flowers, leaves and numbers.

This is the second card I have made using them, this time using the card die cuts as well as the  Sweet Soiree DSP and the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set. Continue reading

Collar Fold Card – Video Tutorial

I have two cards and one video tutorial to share with you today.  I love this Collar Fold, it gives me a chance to showcase our Designer Series Paper and also to show both sides of the same piece.  Each card using the same fold but in two different colors, both would be perfect for a birthday or thank you card, although my pink version was designed as a Valentine it would make a great anniversary card as well.

I used a number of goodies from the  2018 Occasions Catalog ~  the greetings from the Southern Serenade Stamp Set, Petal Pair Embossing Folders, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and Petal Passions Embellishments. Continue reading

Sweet Soiree Embellishments

Tucked away on page 13 of the 2018 Occasions catalog is a packet of the cutest little embellishments ~ just perfect for quick and very pretty decorating of cards and other paper crafting items.  The packet included ribbon, tassels, mini clothes pins, washi tape, die-cuts on card and vellum, which include cakes, flowers, leaves and numbers.

I have been enchanted with them and have made some cards and bags to share over the coming weeks, which also feature the Sweet Soiree DSP and the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set. Continue reading

Sweet and Simple ~ Picture Perfect Birthday # 3

Today’s card is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal.  Then you find the basics such as stock, herbs and spices etc are ‘pantry’ items and it turns out that the meal was made with a whole host of ‘hidden’ stuff we did not know about.

Southern Serenade Birthday

This is one of those special birthday cards – made for a friend who was celebrating a milestone birthday – I did not add an age – everyone deserves a little consideration when it comes to that!  My stamp set is Southern Serenade with the Layering Oval Dies making the focal point and Eclectic Layers thinlits dies giving some background dimension. Sweet and Simple ~ Lovely Wishes

Today’s card is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal.  Then you find the basics such as stock, herbs, spices and pasta/rice etc are ‘pantry’ items and it turns out that the meal was made with a whole host of ‘hidden’ stuff we did not know about.

So the ‘pantry items’ for my challenge are going to be, adhesive, Stampin Trimmer, Bone folder and Paper-Piercing tool.  I am going to attempt to create  with 1 stamp set and some ink pads, 1 embellishment (other than paper or card)  and one additional tool, probably a punch.  Click here to see the first in the series.

I chose the Lovely Wishes Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog – it has lots of ‘swirly’ images with leaves and dinky little flowers that remind me of tulips. Continue reading

Sweet and Simple ~ Picture Perfect Birthday # 2

Two weeks ago I became a statistic………… coming down with the flu which I have never had before!  I spent 5 days in bed (never done that before either) another 3 days feeling as weak as a kitten – even had to sit down for a rest after taking a shower!  and now left with an irritating cough, but at least I am able to think straight now.

Occasionally I will write my posts in advance, particularly if I know I am going to be away for a few days but I really much prefer to write them either the day of or day before posting – it is much fresher and I feel more connected with you all that way.  But since I did not know I was going to fall sick, I was not able to ‘prepare’ ~ so I have fallen behind.
