Cling Stamps V’s Photopolymer – Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

I was asked the other day what the difference was between ‘Cling’ stamps and ‘Photopolymer’ Stamps – and that is a very good question.  After nearly 10 years as an SU demo I tend to forget there are folks that are new to this wonderful craft!

Basically they each do the same job – produces beautiful images for your crafting delight, they are made from different materials you just handled them a little differently. So today’s post explains how to handle them, attach labels, attach to acrylic blocks and keep them clean.

Birthday Bonanza Shaker Card ~ Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

Shaker Cards are such a lot of fun, especially for children but I am sure an adult would enjoy one as well!  It was our youngest granddaughters birthday last week so I thought a fun card would be just perfect, particularly as she will not be having a party with friends and extended family this year.

We later found out that she wanted an ‘elephant’ cake for her birthday – which her talented parents made for her – so the Birthday Bonanza DSP, with the cute animals, I used for her card turned out to be in the right theme!

Very Versailles Shabby Chic Birthday Card

Welcome back to my corner of the world

Oh, I am so excited with today’s card – I made it for my sister’s birthday last week , I  wanted to do something ‘vintagy’ as that is very much her style. Unusually for me I have used two stamp sets for this card, Very Versailles and Artisan Textures (soon to retire – so order yours now!)

I am not sure whether you call it vintage or shabby chic – what is the  difference or is it  the same thing? ! Anyway I used a number of techniques and materials to create the effect – sponging, distressing, multiple layers of stamping, then lace, twine, pearls and vellum.

Double Embossing Technique with Parisian Blossoms Suite ~ Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

I think today’s card would work for just about any occasion so I did not put any greeting on it at all.  To be honest I don’t think it needed it – there is such a lot going on a greeting would have been just too much!

I am featuring a double embossed technique – starting with an embossing folder – sometimes known as ‘dry embossing’ then followed up with heat embossing where embossing powder is melted onto your card using a heat gun!  I am waving a fond farewell to a several products that are retiring at the end of May (available while stocks last) Copper Embossing PowderParisian Beauty Bundle, 1 5/8 Scalloped Circle, 1 1/8 Scalloped Circle and 1″ Circle Punches.

Peaceful Poppies Spinner Card

Welcome back to my corner of the world

Interactive cards are a lot of fun to make and receive.  I was reminded of this style of card when I got a Christmas card  from my sister last year.  Basically the front of the card has a large hole in it where another panel is attached using Bakers Twine.  You turn  the panel so the twine is twisted then put the card in the envelope  when the recipient gets the card and opens it the front panel twirls around!

I used the Peaceful Poppies DSP and Poppy Moments Dies to decorate my card – but it would work for any of our decorative papers and dies – can you imagine a child receiving this style of card?

Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop ~ Spring/New Beginnings

Welcome to the  Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop,  we are  group of international Stampin UP! demonstrators sharing our ideas and creativity with you.

You will have either arrived from  Rebecca-Jo’s post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME.  This month we have been challenged with a Spring/New Beginnings theme

Once again I have chosen to use a 12 x 12 page – mainly because Stampin’ UP! has 12 x 12 card stock in all its colors which gives me a fantastic choice but also because they have the 12 x 12 Page Protectors and Albums.

Beautiful You Retiform Technique Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

I have a great technique video to share today – the Retiform Technique.  I had no idea what it meant,  added to which  my spell checker doesn’t even recognise it!  So  I checked out the definition of retiform ~ ‘having the form of or resembling a net’ ….. and that is exactly what this technique creates!

I chose to use the Beautiful You Stamp Set because it has nice big images which meant I could show you on a video quickly – but if you make each of the sections smaller you can use smaller images to build up an even more intricate pattern.

Ombre Sponging with Stencils ~ Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

I like to try new things and as I browse through the Stampin’ UP! catalog ‘stuff’ takes my fancy and I will order  ‘it’ to try.  Then to my shame ‘it’ will sometimes just sit there for a while waiting its turn to be used.  The Basic Pattern Decorative Masks are one such thing – it has been sitting there for a while and earlier this week it was their turn to play a starring role in my video today!

When I started to write about this card I realized I had used the same inspirational greeting from the ‘Here’s A Card’ stamp set as my card on Friday – just shows you what a great sentiment it is! My video also shows how you can color ribbon with a Stampin Sponge.
